WORTHY HEALTH NOTE:
The 2023 Q1 OFA Testing Report to the Boykin Spaniel Society noted 301 Boykins tested for Hips. Twenty-nine (9.6%) of the 301 Boykins scored an ‘Excellent’ rating. Nala and two litter sisters (Kimber and Rosie) are all represented in this top tier. The litter itself (Boy x Nico 2021) saw four of seven complete the recommended BSS Health tests; providing for a 43% OFA ‘Excellent’ Hips rating in the litter. The fourth, a male, rated ‘Good’. We feel blessed to have accomplished this with our first litter and continue to strive to do the same in this litter.

~ BSS Recommended Health Testing Complete
~ OFA CHIC Certified and OFA Excellent Hips
All puppies will go to their forever homes with a Clear by Parentage Certificate for CEA, DM, and EIC; dewclaws removed and tails docked (BSS Standard), dewormed, first shots, and microchipped.

I am a small breeder (1-2 litters a year) and breed to preserve the conformation and purpose for which the Boykin family developed this breed- while improving the genetics and health. I enjoy spending time afield with my Boykins and relish the occasional opportunities my schedule allows us to participate in hunt tests/field trials. |
